Our safe activities include Football, Dodgeball, Team Building, Dance & Performing Arts, Go Create to name a few. Where possible, we look to include seasonal activities/sports which are often planned around larger events like the Olympics or Football World Cup to help further inspire interest in these children. Our aim is to ensure that the range of activities will enable children opportunity to relate and be engaged by something in their time with us to ensure they can take some of these newfound interests beyond our care.

 

We run food-based activities to engage the children with healthy foods. These activities have included activities like food preparation, growing your own food and fruit-kebab making which has helped the children be creative whilst learning about healthy food choices but also given them a choice in the decision making. Our activities are designed to get the children active through guided discovery. The activities help educate the children on healthy eating and have a focus on mental health well-being. Through the inclusion of healthy living badge-sheets and healthy eating quizzes, we feel the children will become more knowledgeable on healthy food choices and how these positive changes can have a bigger impact on their lives.

We also implement daily healthy lifestyle activity sheets to complete throughout the day which include daily logs of activities and food they had tried which were also supported by healthy eating quizzes for the children to participate in. The activities we select to run are not just included to get the children physically active, but to also provide opportunity for mental well-being, and to challenge them to grow.
